Gender Studies, what are some of the weirdest sponsored ads you've gotten when searching for something? - Serena - 05-10-2013 03:40 PM

I was just searching for an abortion argument, and all of the sponsored ads were for adoption.
NFangora, I'm aware of that. It's weird nonetheless, to push adoption when someone searches for abortion.

Thats not weird at all. It makes sense.
The adoption agency just was tagged as 'abortion' to target an audience of people with unwanted pregnancies.

Don't know, but today I got one for Elvis after I commented on a FB status update about wondering if Elvis had a facebook page.

Well... The good news, is that I put in adoption, and nothing came up for abortion...O.o?

Not that weird, but a bit harsh: searching for information on anorexia nervosa, I got a lot of weightloss pills and such ads.

I was in the LGBT section recently, and like with all ads they focus on certain groups. The ad had Elton John in it, like I am supposed to like him just because he is gay and I am? Yuck! There is also that stupid Donald Trump ad to vote for him. Who gives a f**k?

EEK....Extermination of Emo Kids...I clicked on it

I know I've seen countless odd ones, but it is difficult to remember.

"The facebook of sex"

That's just stupid. That's like "The laser printer of the NFL."

Always.. weight loss.. for anorexia related stuff.
Heh.
