What is "Pocodot" and why is it all over Youtube? - Lauren - 05-11-2013 04:26 PM

Okay, so i've been seeing this all over Youtube, mainly on VEVO videos.
It's saying its a new social networking site?
Is this just a scam?
i've also heard it give you a virus if you sign up for an account?
Thanks, i'm just really curious.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLaCN_0SPV4&feature=related This might help.

But others say that It stores your INFO as data and is sent to a Third Party. And that you can't delete your profile. Don't do it, that's my recommendation.

It is not spam. It is not a scam. It does not give viruses (a simple check on Norton's SafeWeb site for Pocodot will confirm this). Does it market heavily on YouTube? Definitely. - but who doesn't nowadays?

It is a new discovery platform that seeks to unravel the known and unknown dots that connect us. A dot is a person, place, or thing. It has a dislike button, dots of separation graph, 1on1 relationship dot mapping, geo-location mapping of dots, Wikipedia-like story blogging tool, weather and time widgets, video and photo tagging and posting, chat bubbles, instant messaging chat function, fan/community/business pages, etc. It has no ads, and does not release user data to 3rd party vendors like e-mail addresses and phone numbers unlike an unnamed large competitor.

Pocodot is a new social network - that's all it is.
There are lots of messages about pocodot in the music video chats on YouTube.
All the pocodot messages in the music video chats have annoyed some kids to the point where they have resorted to lying about pocodot. Some people may actually believe the lies are true.
Norton safe web did an intensive check on pocodot and found it to be perfectly safe.
Clearly, the pocodot comments annoy some people, but it's nothing more than a safe new social networking site.
