How do you think social networking sites affect people's social skills? - ashley - 05-11-2013 09:20 PM

Negative / Positive Impact? Or both?

Negatively, they spend less time interacting with others and more time staring at a screen. I am now a recluse hermit thanks to yahoo answers

Negitive for the drama and positive so they can stay in touch with friends and chat faster

In my opinion, it truly depends on the person. I have an account on all of the basic social networks, tumblr, twitter, formspring, facebook, Y!A, youtube.. but I can say that I have good social skills, and they have a neutral impact on me - - but then there are other people who become increasingly introverted and anti-social (as well as terrible with average grammar!) by using these sites and not socialising in person as much.

Yeah, I guess it depends on the person.

Both really. It doesn't make you as shy if you're talking to someone for the first time over the Internet. Negatively because you don't use social skills to meet/make new friends, the Internet can make people seem a bit authistic.

POSSIBLY BOTH !?! as`Many times that things about tis subject/matter has been talked about over the years !!! Both.

Positive aspects; include instant communication , friendship, mutual interests, money, knowledge, and the ability to be more honest than in person, ad the universal need to form and maintain positive, stable interpersonal relationships exists..

Negatively; is the growing international addiction, and "Facebook Depression," The Associated Press explains that photos of happy people, and the amount of Facebook friends are factors that could contribute to depression..
