Getting involved in groups is an easy way to increase your personal brand. Ask questions and provoke dialogue, LinkedIn has a very popular Q & A section.
Or try creating your own groups and pages inside facebook, linkedin, plaxo, etc.
Try starting a blog and listing links to all your profile pages as well.
