I uninstalled a week after installation but i still have the privitize VPN search bar.. i started getting ad's on my facebook like big flashing ones along the sides, im not sure if its related,, but am i infected?

It seems like so!
I would advice you to remove the VPN add on which you installed into your browser. Or you can uninstall the complete browser from your computer to install it again.

Yes, it's malware.
Remove from the registry and run Malwarebytes.
