If your mother has a Facebook account tell her you will add her. This way she can view your profile anytime anywhere and see what you have posted.

tell her, zillion of people have it, why cant I? and we can be friends there, you should have it too, so you can keep in touch and meet your old friend.

how old are you btw?

tell her that she can friend you on facebook and monitor what you're doing. if she doesnt go for that, offer to give her your password so she can literly see EVERYTHING. that worked for a friend of mine in 7th grade. he mom signed on as my friend and checked everything regularly at first, but after a few months she started trusting my friend again and didnt check anymore.

Maybe if you just leave it alone and stop asking she might change her mind.... or forget that you want one.

make one and lie to her saying she said " yes" and remind her that it was a long time go....
;D

facebook's terms are for users to be aged 13 and over. They don't have parental controls, only privacy settings with which you can control who has access to your profile.

Facebook does have some, very limited protection for under 18s, so if you lie about your age you risk not having these.

Every parent wants to protect their child from bullies, fraud, computer viruses and worse; it's only natural. So try to see this from their point of view Don't yell, no matter what happens! Lose your temper and you've lost the argument!

I don't know how old you are, but as you are at school you are going to have to convince them that you understand why you need to take care on the internet and that talk about what steps you can take to protect yourself and the computers from the stuff parents are frightened about. You are also going to have to convince them that you will do your homework and go to bed and not spend 24/7 in chat rooms and social networking!

Some useful material to share with your parents... they'll show you've done some research! You all should watch/read these:

Well I could sleep with her and that would probably loosen her up a bit, after which would be the best time to ask.

I had this problem when I first wanted it. Here are a few tips;

- You could talk to her and let her tell you why she wouldn't want you to have it,so you don't think she's just being mean (I'm sure it will be for your safety).
- When you create your account, let her be there, if she knows your password and can check your Facebook, she shouldn't be as nervous.
- There is many privacy settings on Facebook now, you could let your mum set them, so she is happy.
- Have her added as a friend so she can see all your status's.
- Be very, very nice to her then ask her Wink
