I read that he wrote an article about social media companies but didn't mention he had shares in some of these companies. However, how is that illegal?

He's been promoting the companies he is invested in without full disclosure. In other words his tweeting has gushed over the companies he is involved with and he did not let the public know that his interests are involved.
The law finds that deceitful, and they are charging him on that in accordance to the rules and regulations of the business laws.
