Which system is better? The US system of creating fluff jobs, or the European one giving $ directly? - NONAME - 05-27-2013 09:28 AM

The US has a low social safety net, but generally strives to use its financial resources to create low paying "fluff jobs" for full employment.
European countries have a high social safety net and generally tolerates high unemployment by giving the money directly to those out of work; as opposed to creating fluff jobs for them.
Each has comparable growth rates and GDP per capita.
Which is superior and why?

So, do we manufacture this fluff, or assemble the fluff from imported piece parts, or boil it up in a process control plant, or what?

tell that to Spain whose unemployment is over 25% - I bet they would rather have your so called 'fluff' jobs

Ask somebody like Henry Ford.

Nobody should be given money for nothing.

Have you seen what's been happening with the Boston bombing victims? People are DONATING tons of cash to them, and honestly that is how it should be. The government has proven over and over that it is too inefficient and too much red tape to benefit those who need it most.

Your premise is false. European countries use protectionism and subsidies to keep industries afloat just the like US does.

They Both Suck!.......Governments should NOT be involve in the economy. They should not print money out of thin air and set interest rates. There should be no welfare. No minimum wage laws, or any other government involvement.
Before 1913 the Free Market ws allowed to work and it lifted more people out of poverty than anything else in History. Since then the Government has distorted and perverted the economy so badly that it barely runs.
Government is NOT the Solution to our problems...Government is the problem!
