Why is Facebook inundated by impersonal trite crap instead of real personal stuff? - MthrNatures_Son - 05-27-2013 09:35 AM

I just took 30 minutes to get caught up on Facebook. Most of it is useless clever phrases or slogans often printed on those old fashioned looking pictures. Sometimes recipes are shared. Sometimes persuasive pictures for or against wars or scenarios in politics pass by.

I never post on facebook because when I do, its something meaningful. I don't just post every piece of crap that passes my desk. If I'm doing or experiencing something meaningful, I'll post.

Why don't people post real things on Facebook anymore?

Because of of their "Friends" aren't really friends; they're virtual strangers. No one wants (or no one SHOULD want) strangers reading about their life. Posting too much gets people in trouble. I was shown an article on Facebook and too much posting, which I'm passing on to you.

You should also know that some people use Facebook as an escape and they enjoy what you consider meaningless posts. It gives them something to laugh at or think about. It's something different than the problems of everyday life. If you find what people post too meaningless, maybe you should rethink having Facebook. Have you tried Twitter?
