Whats up with puerto Rico and coqui? - Sydney Grunklee - 05-27-2013 10:08 AM Why do people say coqui on twitter all the time? Isnt it a frog? - Darth Eugene Vader - 05-27-2013 10:15 AM Yes, the coqui are small frogs from several species in PR. (One example: Eleutherodactylus antillensis). The males from two of the species make a loud sound at night. If you walk or make noise near a coqui that is singing he will shut up, and will re-start when he feels he is safe and alone or it is silence around him. So, back to twitter or other types of conversations... People may ask a question and then nobody answerred, a silence was made... the perfect environment to hear a "coqui". The word "coqui" here means "everybody is quiet, silent". |
