If you have the "protect my tweets setting" on which prevents your tweets from being public, if you tweet someone you follow, but they don't follow you back, would they get your tweet? In case this is confusing, here's an example:
If I have the setting on and I tweet @somebody and I follow them, but they don't follow me, will they get my tweet?

The person that you do mention will get your tweet even if they are not following you just as long as your using "@username" before what you want to write to them. The only thing you can't do when someone isn't following you is direct messaging them.
