Will Women's Wrestling ever be as respected as the men's? - World Government - 05-27-2013 04:11 PM

There were and still are women like Trish Startus, Lita, Chyna, Victoria, Molly Holly, Velvet Sky and Gail Kim. They all possessed actual wrestling skills, while the women of today possess little to non, they are either eye candy or co medial entertainment. For example AJ Lee, Rosa Mendes and Aksana.

TNA push their women's talent much more then another company like the WWE, yet TNA don't quite push their talent enough. WWE superstar Natalya is a prime example of wasted talent. She has the greatest wrestling abilities and the most experience of any of the current women in the WWE. Why the WWE sideline her with the Great Khali and Hornswoggle makes me feel quite sad for her.

Not being sexist, but are women equal in any sport, my answer no.
The wwe heavily pushed women from 99 till 06 they produce ratings and were great, but they need charisma thats why people without wrestling ability are being used, they have charisma.
Natalya yes great wrestling not that much charisma
Who was the last diva to be "great" on the mic though, who was the last diva to get a big reaction?

No, sadly. Wrestling just does not try hard enough to find the talent

It is sad and i don't know if it will be respected like mens wrestling. WWE barely even respects WRESTLING as a whole. Look at Raw its THREE hours long yet they're only like 4 or less matches, and a lot of them are repeats and so predictable. WWE is more of a advertisement company, its always advertising tout fb twitter future PPVs, what happened Last week whats happening in the main even etc. etc. Even in commentary they don't even talk about wrestling. TNA do respect womans wrestling too, but its still like WWE not taking them serious and they still use woman as eye candy. America is world built for men, woman are not the norm we don't really think of them as equal. WWE before was still the same but they cared more about wrestling and they advertised less. The shows was shorter yet had more matches so there was space for woman wrestling. TNAs flaw is sticking to the past WWE, WCW etc. and not just the past but the ideal that woman should be seen as eye candy also.

Not as long as there are sexist people in charge but I have faith one day it will change and half the matches on every show will be men and the other half will be women.

Wrestling just needs a good dose of feminism.

I'm guessing you have never seen japanese womens wrestling aka joshi

in the attitude era it was getting respect because the WWE actually took time to develop the talent as well as give them respectable story lines to actually keep peoples attention now they dont do that they only focus on 2 divas at a time and the writers dont spend enough time on them to make them interesting enough for people to want to watch them or follow their story
