What is the role of a Content Writer in Social Media? - Poojapat - 10-12-2012 04:09 PM

I would like to know the scope and career opportunity of a content writer in social media. Which is the important area a content writer should focus on,etc.

Well it depends on the website you're working for. It's about passion, you should find something that you're passionate about whether it's music or art.

hope this helps.

As far as the scope goes, it could go very wide. Some people wishing content are very specific and give the actual content facts to be written, while others know nothing about the subject matter and require the writer to do research.
Oftentimes, what is produced needs to be re-purposed for use in other areas. For instance, an article to be posted on a blog, but re-written for an article directory, or a web 2.0 site.
Some subjects you may be very familiar with and you can state that, but as I said above, most times you will probably be doing research. The research can be time consuming and people hire writers because they don't have time, aren't very good at the task themselves, or (sorry) are just plain lazy.
I know of one very nice lady, Tiffany Dow, who was once considered to be the 'guru's writer', but became tired of churning out great content and making others "richer". She struck out on her own and is doing very well.
I'll put a link of hers down below. No, I am Not Tiffany.
