You can marketing using social media, but it does take time. I find that using forums is a great way, because you really get to know people and you find what they like and dislike. Some forums offer different topics and some just offer one topic. You can find one just about on any topic you want.
Blogging is also a good way too. In my opinion it is one of the best ways to market if you do it correctly.
