when someone comments on ur status on facebook, do u need to tag them in ur reply? - Thunderousclover115 - 07-17-2013 11:46 AM

when someone comments on your status or pic on facebook, and you reply back, do you need to tag them @____ in your reply for them to see what you wrote in reply? or do they get a notification without a tag that you replied?
i say "reply" as in they comment on your status and then you comment back on the same, your own status.

I think it depends on what kind of friend they make you, but if you click reply, it will. But yes if your not replying.

If the person is on your friends list and you haven't blocked them from seeing your wall then they will get a notification when you reply to a post. Try commenting on someone's post, preferably with something that would prompt a response and see what happens.

It's not a must. Just commenting on the status will give them a notifcation that " *you* also commented on the photo" or something like that.
Tag them if it's necessary and to keep it conversational and friendly. They will get two notifcations at this instant. One saying " *you* also commented on the photo" and the other saying " *you* mentioned your name in a comment"

So chances for them to notice the comments would be more in case of tagging. :-)
