Using a celebrity's picture online? - massiveafterthought249 - 07-20-2013 09:14 PM I used a celebrity's picture as my profile picture. I found it on Google, and I didn't use their name at all, or mine. I didn't use any of their info, but mine. I ended up deleting the account, is this illegal? Please help. And I did chat with a few people. I didn't use any of the celebrities stuff though. I created a new name for me, it's just a fun thing. I didn't get anything out of it, except for a chat or two, but no money or gifts or anything. I just used the celebrities photo from online. - Angeleyes - 07-20-2013 09:15 PM Yes it is illegal to impersonate celebrities. You impersonated a celebrity and people thought it was real. - Smokies Hiker - 07-20-2013 09:21 PM Yes that's illegal. The copyright law and the identity theft law would both cover what you did. - Jorge - 07-20-2013 09:25 PM It's illegal, but who cares? lol. Noones going to come after you unless you did something huge. Chatting with a few dumb people that thought you were a celebrity wont do anything. |
