I think that you have a misunderstanding of what "mobile" really means.
The word mobile means "Able to move or be moved freely or easily."
So whenever you a device that can be move around in your hands it is consider mobile.
So yes, iPod, smartphone, etc... are consider mobile. I hope this answer your question.
