Every time I become friends with someone, I don't want it to show up in the newsfeed of my other friends.
My friends list privacy is set to "only me"---only I can see my friends list. So if I add a new friend, does this show up in my other friends news feeds?
If my friends list wasn't private a couple of weeks ago, and if these things were showing up in my friends news feeds, once I made my friends list private, would this old info disappear from my friends newsfeeds?

If they have listed u in their CLOSE FRIENDS list...
Whatever u do..will be a notification to them...
