Maybe I can select a few people who won't be able to see the post

add them to restricted list and thats it they wont see

Create a new list and add the people to it, when you want to share your post click share with "new list"
or else add the other people to your restricted list.

Their is a drop down list on the status update box that lets you change who see's the post, click on it, select custom, then add the friends to the list that you don't want to see your post, it's under "Don't share this with."
