How can I turn off the sound for the facebook notifications on my PC? - Ashika - 07-30-2013 06:13 AM

I get so irritated when I hear that creepy notification sound every time I get a notification.. I have so many friends and the dumbest thing I do is to turn off my PC's volume..It's really annoying..Is there any way to mute the sound? Because I always listen to songs..

Thank You!

Click on the volume control part on the taskbar and click 'Mixer' (on vista and windows 7 PC's) unsure if there is this option on Mac and older windows machines, when in the mixer menu, just mute the interent browser's sound instead of the master volume.

You can mute the computer. There is not much else you can do.

Hi,
To turn off notification sounds, go to your notifications settings and uncheck the box next to Play a sound when each new notification is received:

1.Click in the upper-right corner of any page on Facebook and select Account Settings
2.Click Notifications in the left column
3.Find the How you get notifications section
4.Click View next to On Facebook
5.Uncheck the box next to Play a sound when each new notification is received
6.Click Save Changes

The article has explained it using screenshot..:http://www.sociobits.org/2013/04/how-to-turn-off-facebook-sound-notifications.html

Hope this helps!
