Let's say someone you don't know sends you a message calling out your son/daughter as a trouble making delinquent. Even if its somewhat true, would you block that person?

I would tell them that I would sue them for slander if they spoke that crap again without evidence, then tell them explicitly never to contact me again or I'd regard it as harassment. Then block them

First, you should inquire what exactly makes them a troublemaker. If the reason isn't backed up, then yes, you should block him/her.
