Also, if you deleted your facebook, but it was still opened in another tab, is it deactivated?

yes, people can read the private messages you send them no matter what happens to your account
it's like email... once you send someone an email, there is no way to prevent them from reading it, even if you delete your email account

Yes, people can still see and read previous messages that you sent them regardless whether your account has been deactivated or deleted.
