My mom is obsessed with facebook..? - missluna - 08-05-2013 09:25 PM

I am really pissed off. I apologize for the length of this but I need somewhere to vent. My mother is really obsessed with facebook and getting likes on her pictures. Everytime she dresses up in a new outfit, she asks me to take a "profile picture." This means taking a million different pictures until she gets the "perfect" one that she can put up as her picture. Then, she asks me to go on her profile and like and comment on all of her pictures, even though she already has about 90+ likes on pretty much all of them. I get super annoyed when she asks me because when I say no, she starts an argument with me. Sometimes I give in, but other times, like today, I just cannot handle it. I'm tired of fighting over the same thing every single day and I just need to know what I can say to her to make her understand that facebook is not all there is to life. It doesn't determine your real life relationship status with people around you and it doesn't matter how many likes you get on your pictures. Sometimes, she'll be so absorbed with using facebook on her laptop that she won't even hear me when i'm calling her. All of her focus and energy is directed towards this social media site. I'll also catch her using facebook on her phone while driving which is extremely dangerous or she'll be on facebook while she's working when she's not supposed to be. Can someone tell me what to say to her to get her to stop obsessing over this? It's ruining everything and tearing our family apart.

Oh, dear god.
A mother acting like a teenage adolescent.
I'm sorry. I'm very very sorry.

It is a disorder, You cant handle it alone. She wont listen to your words. Seek a help of a psychiatrist.
