I've seen some of my friends put hastags in their status on Facebook.does this actually serve a purpose or is just for looks?

it serves no purpose
some people just do it for looks
other people have their twitter and facebook connected, so everything they post on twitter also posts on facebook, which is how most of them get on facebook

Well hash tags don't serve a purpose on Facebook at all!! On instagram or twitter they do but it just looks stupid on Facebook as hash tags aren't meant for Facebook and from my point of view just make people look like complete idiots! I would never hash tag on Facebook as it would just make me look stupid

If They Have There Twitter Account Connected to Facebook you May See Hashtags in there Status Because it Updates on Both Networks

Actually Facebook has confirmed that it will officially start supporting hashtags soon.
