Can I make investments (real estate, stock market, etc.) while drawing Social Security Disability? - Jack - 10-12-2012 11:40 PM

Is 44 too young to retire with a $4000/month disability pension and company paid full medical package?

I'm single, my child is grown.
*I'm just concerned about having earning limitations at the age of 44.

Any investments you make in real estate, stocks, etc. will NOT affect your SS disability payment. Only earned income might have affect it. It's a good idea to invest part of your disability pension to make up for future inflation, as I believe your present pension will only be worth 1/2 or less that amount in purchasing power by the time you reach age 65.
