Is that why they are on Facebook? - edoedo - 08-08-2013 05:42 PM

Does Facebook help you become popular?
Or does it make you narcissistic?

I am just asking.

Thanks.

I doubt that being "popular" is what Facebook is for. It's for sharing and connecting to your friends and family

It's just for socializing with people.

The latter.

Used correctly, it's a great way to keep in touch with relatives in other states (I reconnected with my dad's family through Facebook). Used incorrectly, you become an annoying butthead who sticks "repost if".... And "say something nice about me and I'll say something nice about you"..... And "like if you/scroll if you don't" pictures and statuses. So I'd say narcissism plays a heavy role with some people.

Could be both, but for many it is just a way of keeping in touch--personally, I like email or a phone call!

Good question.
Some people are introverts; tending to not open up much to others and are known to be loners...so perhaps Facebook helps them to reach out and make "friends" that they otherwise might not be able to in real life.
I don't know, I feel like there are a lot of lonely people in this old twisted system that we live in, and they reach out in any way they can.

Facebook is where I tend to let my self relax a little & share jokes with people I love & trust, a side of me I don't show very much on YA.
