Human beings at some point were able to make noises. The parts in throat moved up or down or something so we could vocalize and make many different sounds other than grunts. Other animals throats are not like ours so they can only make simple noises. So at some point a human made a sound that meant one thing and others accepted it. Most language is learned before 5 years old as that part of the brain does not work as good when we get older. So children created language and they still do, we call it slang. If you can't speak you can use sign language which is every bit as good as spoken. People are now understanding this to be true. Whether you use ears or eyes to hear means nothing the BRAIN is doing the translation.
