I want to keep my family on my Facebook account but there posts are really annoying so I want it to go without having to delete them? Is that even possible?

yes over on the right of each post is a little down-facing arrow. click it to 'hide' the posting and it will ask you if you want to alter the preference for that person - then you can hit 'unfollow' or 'unsubscribe' but that person will still be your friend and you can visit their page anytime. (you can also do this somewhere under the account and friends settings).

I think it is start off by blocking anyone from writing on your wall then go to your newsfeed and create a group in with everyone except from the people you want to block and click that group
