Ok I can't comment on my first question I asked but someone answered saying that if I make a tweet on twitter starting with sometimes address like "@whoever" it will only show on my account. This person I am trying to get in touch with does not follow me but I follow this person. How can I get a message to them to have them add me. They make it so complicated. All I want to do is get in touch with this person and I can't send a personal message WHAT DO I DO?

You can send them a tweet with there username in it for example, 'hey @username please follow me' but you can not send them a direct message, to send them a direct message in which only you and the username you're sending one to can see is that both of you have to be following each other to send it.

you can @yourfriendsname to tweet this person. Make a tweet that you wanted him/her to follow you back

you can tag them so '@lalalaala follow me' or whatever but you cant send them a direct message unless they are following you aswell
