hmm I'm not sure but it might just be the people who are subscribed to you (following you) regardless of if they are friends with you or not... If you go on anyone's profile you'll find a button that says "follow" if you click it, you will get "updates" and news from them but without actually friend requesting them...
I'm pretty sure that's how it works anyways haha
