So i made a video of my parents vacation in overseas. Its a slideshow of photos with background music containing, lionel richie, and various old music people.
I plan to upload these photos on my mothers Facebook and it will only be avaiable to her friends.
Will i get sued because i didn't ask permission for using the music?

If its on FB then 'NO'
If you upload on youtube then also 'NO'
it will be banned on youtube.
Don't worry you wont be sued or jailed!

As soon as you use anybody else's copyrighted material on a public site you are breaking the law. If the monitors of Facebook see it they can report you to the authorities. ANY web site is public, regardless of your settings. Considering the fines are about $50,0000.00 US PER copy and the US supreme Court indicted a 12 year old girl for copyright infringement with fines totalling $150,000.00, it is a big risk.

No you'll not get sued or jailed for that.
You are just using the music and many of the people in the world use one's music without any permission.
So, don't get tensed and just surprise your mom with the video. :-)

If you Use Music That Is Protected By Copyright than Yes you Mite Even if its Set to Private There are Other Ways of them Finding Out i Strongly Suggest you Not Put it on Facebook if its Got Music That Contains Artists That have Copyright Protected Music
