God was awake when he sent Merry Clayton to do backup vocals in "Gimme Shelter." When her voice cracks at the top and Jagger responds with "Whoa" it was perfect. One of my high school students was murdered at the end of this September. Chris was shot 7 times. This was one of the songs I played for the mourners left who loved him and there were so very many that loved him. Thank you, Ms. Clayton! And Keith Richard and Mick Jagger.
