Promoting your site through good hard work is one way, or you could "buy" likes.. however these likes are not always from real people, they wont hurt your site, and sometimes can make it seem more popular.
another good way is to have your site tweeted or posted on a facebook account that has tons of real followers... check out this link for some more good stuff
