Is NGO a sector where social media marketing can be done? - Nikesh - 10-13-2012 01:20 AM

Is it fair to do social media marketing for NGOs?

Of course, they need to get the word out there and market themselves just like any other organisation. Ok they don't have the big budgets to spend on marketing like commercial organisations do but they still need to market and social media marketing is one of the most cost effective means of reaching out to a large audience.

I am unsure as to why you would think it may not be fair. Maybe you can expand on your question a little to explain ?

It is fair foe NGOs to market their organization via social media. If more people donate, they can help more orphans or poor people in the society. So there is nothing wrong if NGOs do such kind of marketing.

Social media marketing is necessary for the NGO. NGO are really serving the society by providing the best services without any profit motive. they work towards human empowerment and sustainable development. so promoting and raising funds through the social media is the fair activity. There are lot of people across the world are connect to the social media . people who are really interested in donating funds for NGO go through it and donate.
