I see people who post rubbish all of the time and keep getting lots and lots of followers! Maybe I don't post enough but I don't get how people can have so many followers?

A lot of them pay for followers (I'm completely against that) or go to traffic exchange sites. I say the best way is to talk about something that stands out and maybe even create your own custom #hashtag. Thats what worked for me. @AWBrawler is my twitter, and you can see just how many followers i have, they all came from just replying to random tweets and retweets.
