hi
I need to share a status update with only a custom list of my friends, but whenever I do so, anyone of that list can see all the names of the friends that I'm sharing the status update with. I want them only to see the word "custom" without being able to view all the names, (i dont want them to see each others name i just want them to see as custom)

they dont see a list of everyone's names - only you do - they see the word custom
what makes you think they see the list of names? are you using the "view as" feature? because that has many flaws, and that is one of them

If you upload on the status by tagging then it's possible.
