I used to have one ages ago but though it was stupid. Now I need to make one and I kinda want to have one too. But I'm kinda nervous that making one so late would look lame. Any help please?

It wont look lame, trust me. However facebook is now slowly becoming into myspace and people are more into things like vine, twitter, instagram etc. Better late than never joining.

No, a bunch of people make a Facebook every day. So, no, and if your friends say it's lame they're stupid.
