Which would you rather have, conservatives? Living wages or a broad social safety net? - Matthew D - 10-13-2012 02:42 AM

Because the more I debate and follow the thoughts and expressions of conservatives the more it seems to me that you guys would like to burn the candle at both ends; eliminate the safety net while supporting policies that deliberately affect the market value of labor adversely.
So which would you rather have? Living wages for Americans or a social safety net for Americans?
shovel ready is that to say you support the social safety net?
john what would you propose?

Conservatives want poor people to die.

- john - 10-13-2012 02:50 AM

Why does it have to be either or?

- Shovel Ready - 10-13-2012 02:50 AM

Experience shows that a great way to kill jobs is to implement policies with names like "living wages."

Conservatives SAY they are Conservative while spending the hell out of our money and cooking the books at the same time. Why did Bush n friends hide the cost of war?

free market capitalism with no government interference. so no "living wages" and no "safety nets".

If you support a living wage, then why do you advocate for illegals who have an adverse effect on wages earned? And you support big government which also has a negative effect on wages by paying government employees as much as twice as much as people make for the same job in the private sector.
How can you expect the private sector to meet the demands of unions that they match the elevated standards of big government? Private companies have to operate within a budget. They don't have an unlimited supply of money like the government thinks it does.
Ask yourself this. How does a prison guard making $100k a yr in Cali retire at age 55 on a taxpayer-funded pension that is more that he made while working when people in the private sector doing the same job work until they are 65-70 and unless they have a 401k or IRA , they retire on half of what the government prison guard makes?
I support neither.

Conservatives want able bodied lazy and shiftless people to get off their butts and stop demanding " their fair share " of what others have earned.
Liberals have encouraged generation after generation after generation of people who always want something for nothing and who believe that they are entitled to what others have worked for.
Liberals need to understand that FDR's SOCIALISM SECURITY is part of what is bankrupting Ameica now.
We don't need more SOCIALISM now.

You are asking if we would prefer poop or crap.

I'll have neither, thank you.

What I would like is for free men to conduct their business freely, without undue interference from a meddlesome Government. I would like them to keep the fruits of their labor to share with their families, friends and charities as they see fit.
