Lester...SS is a slush fund for congress to dip into at will, then use tax money to make SS payments.
Even putting it into a 1 or 2% fdic insured bank account will bring a better return. A CD would be even better...stocks better still. Investing in jobs and business is the way sensible people save for retirement and stimulate the economy to boot.
Dumping it into the government slush fund is a guaranteed loss.

Privatizing Social Security is the only chance to save it. IF the government stay in control of it. NO ONE currently under the age of 45 will see a dime of Social Security money.

Republicans have hated Social Security since the 1930's and only want to destroy it.
AND Social Security has a LOT of money in it's budget - and republicans want to get that into the hands of their Billionaire friends....

All the same, can you look at the way that Social Security has been managed by our Government since it's inception and honestly say that you would approve of receiving more of the same?

Privatizing is really the only way to save it.If it is not privatized,no one under 40 right now will ever see one dime of the money they put into it returned.It will all just be money stolen from you for the failed Ponzi Scheme called Social Security.I would opt out today if the Govt would give me my money back,and quit stealing more.
