100% social connective...and we could find what our old classmates are doing and be in contact with friends and families anytime and is a positive aspect but there is 100% negative impact as people creates false identities and just try more and more to look into a strangers privacy which is definitely not good and as a vast gathering place of people with their profiles and stuffs these peeping toms are easily finding targets hope these sites provide best security and privacy to its users

I believe the intention of social media is meant for good -- allowing us to connect with friends, get acquainted with like-minded people around the world, earn us business deals and opportunities, alert us to shape our personal branding, info sharing... and the list could go on. If been used correctly, we can enjoy productive results gained from social media.

But everything has its boundary on what can/to be shared online. We need to avoid becoming the victim of identity theft, or making false accuse of something we're not sure of that maybe come back later to haunt us. Criticism if to be made, need to carry out properly to avoid misunderstandings. The ethic of social networking should always be there and not to be misused for personal attacks.

All in all, this is a subjective question, and the answer lies upon those who use it.
