It's twitter for people who can't read.
So pretty much, you post like one photo usually to say what you're doing or something you like. You don't post tons or have albums like Facebook. But you can't post just a message like twitter. It's strictly photos that can have a caption.

Yes kinda cause you can follow people like twitter & like pictures like facebook, but also help your pictures to look pretty!!!

Well personally, instagram is more or less like twitter because it uses the system of following and follower but the difference is instagram is used for posting special pics, on the other hand twitter is used for sharing feelings and etc.
