Is it a Windows 7 or Facebook issue? - Cindy - 08-23-2013 02:35 PM

Restored computer to factory settings recently due to constant blue screen shut downs.
but, this issue was occurring before then as well.

issue: as soon as i boot up laptop and click on my bookmark to go to Facebook, the browser (firefox) minimizes and the computer freezes for about 30 seconds before the browser restores to the facebook home page.

any other time, there are no issues at all. this only happens the first time of the day that i click on to go to facebook. and no other web sites are affected.

when i first restored the laptop, before the million of windows updates, facebook loaded without fail. but, once the service pack update was installed, it returned.

any reason or resolution? or is it just facebook?
i am not running google chrome, nor is it even installed on the computer.

and yes, i have already ran all the system and browser utilities, checked all the plug-ins and extensions.

like i said, it only happens with facebook and only the first time i use it after the computer is turned on. it locks up the entire computer for only about 30 seconds, and then suddenly everything is ok.
and i do use facebook on my windows 7 phone...but, i prefer to use the laptop on occasion, especially when i need to edit something, and for business purposes.

i think it's the browser that is the problem, try another browser or try using facebook mobile m.facebook.com. or maybe a program is running underground that does that each time you open fb like a virus.
