Removing facebook profile info? - THAL - 08-23-2013 05:09 PM

I want to remove my occupation from my facebook profile without this being publicised to all and sundry in my newsfeed. Just wish I hadn't ever put it on in the first place. Is there a way I can do this?
Just to clarify.... I haven't got a problem with it staying on my timeline history. Was just hoping to discreetly take it off my current profile without generating a newsfeed item telling everyone i had changed it.

Is that possible and if so how?

No....any information that you post will remain on your Timeline. It's part of your history and can't be deleted just because you're now sorry you posted it.

just go to where you entered it and delete it - removing something doesnt post anything to your news feed

Actually, Lacey is correct. You may be able to delete it off your newsfeed, but it will stay on your Timeline. That's like your history and history can't be deleted. As an example, there was a question on here once about how to remove a relationship off of a Timeline. Even if you have a new relationship, you can't delete the old one because it's a part of your history.

People shouldn't be so quick to post without thinking first.
