Skill. You can be pretty and popular, but if you can't get the job done, then you are no good for the company.

Well it's not what you know but who you know. You spend years gaining the skills needed to get a decent job just to see some schmuck slide through because of who his/her parents are or some garbage like that. If you can, find someone that's well connected and ride their coattails because that seems to be the only way you can get ahead in this job market.
