I've turned it off for all friends, yet if I log off then log back on, or play a game, in fact do anything, it'll come back on again. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

try a different browser or check if facebook is suggesting you any updates. i had the same problem a few days back

Ah a fellow geordie by the looks of it haha, don't see many on here. Yeah I have no idea what to do though, maybe look at the help section of Facebook?
