The only think i can think of is you have a private accout and you need to accept requests. You tap on the heart at the bottom of the screen, them look for (username) wants to follow you, tap on it then tap the tick

Check and See if you have your Account Set to Private If you Do you Have to Check and See if you have any Followers Request If you Dont Want your Account Private Than Turn it Off If This Doesint Work than its a Error With Instagram and you have to Wait til The Instagram Team Fixes it
