I recently saw a post that said press alt + 1 to get a smiley face. I saw other people do but when i ddi it my facebook just reloaded...

Well, it is partially correct! Using the keypad '1' is different than using the regular keyboard '1'. If you use your number pad and type 'Alt + 1', then you'll get that wonderful smiley face. If you use 'Alt + 1' using the numbers above your keyboard, the hotkey will bring you back to your homepage.
