Saw my gf's ex's bf profile pic update appear on her news feed. 10 times. She claims he defriended her and she deleted him.. Is this possible or would she have to have refriended him or follow his status? Cant move forward with trust issues. any help would be appreciated.

Yes because Fb has started new service of followers If you delete someone from your friend list but he'she remain in your followers list so if you do not want to show your update change your settings to friends only.
