I go on Facebook, the little side chat thing on the right is okay for the first minute, then it disconnects and wont reconnect until i reload the whole thing. repeat. What's going on? I've tried everything! Has anyone else had this problem? and does it ever become resolved? help!

Yes , I'm having the same problem , its just a bug , but don't worry Facebook will fix it soon.

No worries, the same thing is happening to me. It can't be a coincidence. Just wait it out; it may be an update.
