I turned 13 yesterday and i really want facebook. my mom said she will think about it. i need some things to convince her.

Don't ask for Facebook, ask for internet. Facebook is not a solid device. Anyone having internet can create Facebook profile and use it
Hope your parents doesn't have internet administration in home (firewall or proxy that will facebook website). If that is the case use any proxy bypassing websites.

You need to sit down and have a talk with your parents and tell them exactly WHY you want to join Facebook. You must also need to learn to use it responsibly and your parents need to learn to supervise you whenever you go online.
I have referenced an article that you and your parents can discuss. There are some "rules" for young kids and Facebook. Go over them and as a family, decide what to do. You may think some of these rules are a bit harsh, but 13 year olds usually aren't mature enough to make responsible decisions on who to talk to.
I have also referenced an article on cyber-bullying. It's something you and your parents should be aware of.
Facebook can be a wonderful thing if you don't put too much importance on "Likes" or post inappropriate comments or pictures.
Good luck with this. I hope they allow you to at least give it a try and I hope that you can show them that you can be responsible about using it.
